A companion once remarked, “You know, some successful people in this world are really lucky.”

I thought for a moment and spoke about what I think makes endeavors in this world successful.

“Luck can certainly play a role, but what I think makes people successful in their efforts is perseverance in the face of failure, ridicule, and self-doubt.”

”Key is, perseverance in the face of failure, ridicule, and self-doubt.”

Sometimes other people express their skepticism about our ideas. Sometimes the universe itself deals us a blow on our first tries and prompts us to try again. And sometimes we ourselves self-sobotage our dreams by deflating our enthusiasm.

Perseverance is the common denominator I’ve seen among people who are successful in this world, from the realm of business to the realm of spirituality. If you fall 1,000 times, get up and continue your journey 1,001 times.

A saintly person I met in India once said, “Things in this world come up slowly.” And with persistent effort that is the fruit of undaunted perseverance.
